Nine Policies to Make

Computer Science Fundamental

in Alabama

The Alabama Computer Science Task Force’s work has been intentional as we have put forth the effort necessary to implement the nine policies recommended by Code.org that make “Computer Science Fundamental” in our state (Nine Policies, 2019). These policies support our work by creating clarity, ensuring we are building capacity and employing leaders who will help us sustain these efforts. All nine of these policies purposefully make equity and diversity a priority by requiring policymakers at all levels to focus on underrepresented minority groups who oftentimes are unable to access high quality computer science curricula.
