Allocate funding for rigorous computer science

teacher professional learning
and course support

Section 16-46B-1, Code of Alabama (1975), et. seq., allocated funding for rigorous CS professional learning and course support. Federal funding (e.g., the National Science Foundation) and industry funding (e.g., Google’s CS4HS) drove most of the early support for teacher professional learning, but this will likely be more limited in the future and therefore it is critical that funds are allocated to support expanding CS. Alabama allocated $6 million for CS PD in the Fiscal Year 25 budgets.
